Jakarta, July 4, 2024 – Ramadan is not just about refraining from eating, drinking, and desires from dawn to sunset, but also a moment to increase devotion and good deeds. These good deeds can be performed by giving alms to those in need and enhancing social solidarity. Understanding the meaning of Ramadan, Dettol Indonesia encourages people to enhance solidarity through the campaign “Increase Goodness in the Month of Ramadan.”
This campaign is a collaboration between Dettol and Alfamart to provide access to antibacterial soap bars for one year to 855 families in Bantar Gebang, Bekasi, West Java. This is not just a donation, but also an effort to ensure equal access to hygiene for all communities. Alvin Wiradarma, Marketing Manager of Dettol Indonesia, stated that this campaign aims to provide hygiene access to families in vulnerable environments to keep them free from germs during worship.
The Chairman of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI), Mohammad Adib Khumaidi, explained that a clean environment and adequate health facilities are very important for the smooth observance of fasting. He emphasized the importance of hand washing with soap to prevent diarrhea and other digestive diseases. Maintaining the body’s resistance from the transmission of viruses and bacteria through cleanliness is very important, especially in unpredictable weather. Dettol Indonesia Brand Ambassador Reisa Broto Asmoro also emphasized the importance of keeping families healthy with clean bodies and environments. She recommended the use of antibacterial soap for effective protection.
In continuation of this initiative, T.CARE together with Dettol Indonesia launched a collaborative program entitled “Clean and Healthy with Dettol” to support environmental activists in the Bantar Gebang area. This program is taking place in the Bantar Gebang District area, including around the Sekolah Alam Tunas Mulia, Cluster Jasmine BTR 5, and Cluster Ixora BTR 5. The ceremonial program was held on July 3, 2024, and will run from July to December 2024.
This initiative aims to appreciate environmental activists and address health issues in the community. The program focuses on providing antiseptic soap to improve community hygiene and health. Heri Kurniawan from the Tunasmuda Care Foundation (T.CARE), as the Implementor of the Dettol Family Program, appreciated this program and believes that it will help the people of Bantar Gebang who have made a significant contribution to environmental cleanliness. He hopes that more people will get involved in this campaign to create a clean environment and healthy families.
This program ran smoothly and received positive feedback from the community and local administrators. The high level of support and enthusiasm shows the importance of this collaboration in improving the quality of life for the residents of Bantar Gebang. “We hope this program can have a significant positive impact on the health of the community in Bantar Gebang and become an inspiration for similar initiatives elsewhere,” said a representative from T.CARE. Dettol Indonesia also expressed its commitment to continue contributing to maintaining community cleanliness and health through similar programs.
