Jakarta, July 6, 2024 – PT Wahana Ottomitra Multiartha Tbk (WOM Finance) launched a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by planting 1000 mangrove trees of the bakau species at Tanjung Pasir Beach, Tangerang. This initiative reflects WOM Finance’s commitment to supporting environmental conservation and strengthening social ties with the local community. The mangrove planting aims to sustain coastal ecosystems and enhance environmental resilience for local communities. The choice of mangroves is crucial for maintaining marine ecosystem balance and providing protection against erosion and natural disasters.
This activity is part of the World Environment Day celebrations under the theme “Let’s Protect the Climate with Mangroves” and was attended by several key figures, including Cincin Lisa Hadi (Director of WOM Finance), Erik Tanudjaja (Head of Financial Planning and Investor Relations Division at WOM Finance), Moga Mulya Saputra (Deputy Head of Banten Regional Business Unit at WOM Finance), Anwar Fidian Kusumoputro (Branch Manager of WOM Finance Teluk Naga Branch), Rizki Rizani Fachzi, S.IP, M.Si (Secretary of Teluknaga Subdistrict), and Hendra Ikhwan (Founder of T.CARE).
Cincin Lisa Hadi, Director of WOM Finance, expressed hope that this initiative would restore greenery around Jakarta’s beaches. Moreover, the initiative aims to empower the local community in preserving mangrove forests and utilizing them sustainably. WOM Finance involved its employees in the mangrove planting activities and collaborated with T.CARE for monitoring, as well as engaging local fishermen in caring for the planted mangroves.
Hendra Ikhwan, Founder of T.CARE, stated, “We strongly support WOM Finance’s initiative in environmental preservation through mangrove planting at Tanjung Pasir Beach. This collaboration not only strengthens environmental protection efforts but also empowers local communities to actively preserve valuable natural resources.” The effort aims to raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and build solidarity in sustainable practices.
With strong collaboration and commitment, WOM Finance hopes to make a tangible contribution to environmental preservation for future generations. “We are proud to directly participate in environmental preservation through this mangrove planting. The mangrove planting at Tanjung Pasir Beach marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration between WOM Finance, T.CARE, and the Tangerang Regency Government to preserve the environment.
This mangrove planting program is part of the NATAKOTA program initiated by T.CARE. The program involves communities in environmental preservation efforts, supports green economy through sustainable mangrove forest management, and aims to achieve positive impacts such as greener and sustainable urban environments, empowered communities, and enhanced green economy.
