Kampung Iklim
Building Climate-Resilient Communities Together

The Kampung Iklim (ProKlim) Program is an initiative by T.CARE to integrate community development with strategies to address climate change. Its primary goal is to create more sustainable villages in both environmental and economic aspects while reducing the impact of climate change.

Education and Awareness

Conducting educational campaigns and awareness programs to teach communities about climate change, its impacts, and actions that can be taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which includes:

  1. Socializing government regulations, both central and regional, that support the ProKlim program
  2. Comprehensive training in waste management and community empowerment for sustainable villages

Tree Planting and Greening

Facilitating tree planting and greening initiatives to enhance carbon absorption and improve air quality, which includes:

  1. Tree planting
  2. Hydroponics/Aquaponics
  3. Revitalization of green zones
  4. Construction of Green Houses

Waste Management at the RW Level

Enhancing environmentally friendly waste management practices, which includes:

  1. Inorganic Waste: Waste Banks
  2. Organic Waste: Composters and/or Maggot Houses
  3. Hazardous Waste: Used Cooking Oil Management

Water Management

Improving water management, including collection, storage, and distribution of clean water, as well as protecting water resources, which includes:

  1. Provision of Clean Water Systems
  2. Construction and Maintenance of Infiltration Wells
  3. Community Education on Efficient and Wise Water Use

 

Community Empowerment

Engaging local communities in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the climate village program, as well as providing training and support for them.
